John joined the firm as an associate lawyer in December 2017, having previously practiced with Jack McVicar Professional Corporation, and his practice focuses on real estate, estate planning and administration and corporate/commercial law.

He is a passionate, personable and energetic lawyer who is dedicated to working with his clients to achieve their goals in the most efficient and practical manner.

After working as a political strategist in the Greater Toronto Area for a number of years after receiving his undergraduate degree from York University, John chose to pursue a lifelong goal of becoming a lawyer.

John decided to travel to the United Kingdom to attend the University of Kent Law School in Canterbury, England where he earned his law degree in 2014. While at law school, John was an active participant in student life where he held executive positions with the Kent Critical Law Society and volunteered at the Kent Law Clinic, a free legal service that provided advice and representation for local citizens. John was awarded the Gardner Croft Award as the top negotiator of the school’s annual negotiation competition and went on to represent the law school at the National Negotiation Competition.

Upon returning to Canada, John and his wife, Ashley, moved to Peterborough. John was called to the Ontario Bar in January 2017.

John has always taken pride in being active in his community. Currently, he is a member of the Peterborough Estates Planning Council and the Peterborough Regional Hospital Centre’s Allied Professional Council.

Outside of the office, John is an avid reader of history and historical fiction, enjoys traveling and taking advantage of the natural beauty that Peterborough and the Kawartha area has to offer, whether it be fishing, canoeing or day tripping with his wife, their two children and the dog, Stevie. John is also a lifelong fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
